“Snowy Hideaway” at Almost One Of A Kind

I just recently made my way over to Ballston Spa to Almost One Of A Kind quilt shop!  If you haven’t been there for awhile, you should go back and check out their new layout!  The girls made more room for Lots and lots of the beloved Batiks!  Smile

So, we had five quilters making Snowy Hideaway!  But first I want to show you Phyllis “Painted Ladies”!  She made these patterns a few years ago and finally had a chance to meet up with me to show me the finished quilt.  Check it out . . .

Phyllis' Painted Ladies

The Painted Ladies were my first published patterns – I love seeing other quilters enjoying them as I do!

Now let’s get back to Snowy Hideaway . . . . . .

Doe Camp at Quilters Corner in Middlebury Vermont

Yes, that’s correct!  DOE CAMP in Vermont!  I taught there on November 9th and 10th (which happens to be opening of Deer season in Vermont).  The class was sponsored by Carla, owner of Quilters Corner – 1428 Rt 7 in Middlebury Vermont.  It’s a GREAT shop to check out and is located just south of the village of Middlebury.  Their selection of batiks is VERY impressive!

You’ll also enjoy exploring Middlebury!  The village boasts unique shops and café’s.  If you’re only there for one day, be sure to eat at Storm Café!

So anyway, back to Doe Camp – the Middlebury quilters and I spent those two days together, but we were NOT hunting deer, instead me were making “Deer Island” along with the other two individual patterns from my “Up North” series! Smile

So, lets start off with the individual quilters . . . .

A Notion to Quilt , and “Up North” again

It’s time for catch up!  Yes, I’ve been remiss and not posting photos of all the wonderful quilters and my classes! Better late than never, right?? Smile

Anyway, I traveled “over the mountain” to Shelburne Falls, Ma late last month to one of my very favorite quilt shops, A Notion To Quilt.  I LOVE that name.  All eight quilters made my “Up North” pattern, And all choose completely different fabrics for their mountains and lakes.  They really looked GREAT!

First up all all the quilters, showing off their “porch railing quilts”

Another two day “Up North” workshop at Log Cabin Fabrics

Back again and guess where I went?  ‘Up North” at Log Cabin Fabrics in Selkirk!   And as always the quilters had a great time and made their own version of “Up North”  There were three quilters this time, but one could only stay for a day and will be returning in the November class, so you’ll see here picture then.

First up is Mary Claire – she also did a one day class, but that was all she needed to make her “Lakeside Retreat”

September Classes at Log Cabin Fabrics

Back again and at one of my favorite shops, Log Cabin Fabrics in Selkirk, NY.  The Log Cabin girls and I had two classes last month, both two day workshops. First was Snowy Hideaway with Barbara, Cathy, Linda, Judy and Ralene.  They all did GREAT!  We decided to give the little round window room a new name.   I’ve been calling it the “loft” bedroom, but they think it should be called The Nut Room.  :)  So is that where the “little creatures” store their nuts, OR is that where all the “nutty creatures” go?

Anyway, here are the Snowy Hideaway quilters . . . .

Workshop at Adirondack Quilt Shop, Glens Falls, NY

I headed north last week to the beautiful Adirondack city of Glens Falls,  I know I’ve told you all about this place before, but must mention again how perfect it is!  This great “upstate” New York city has everything!  A great downtown section with loads of cafes and shops, a wonderful bike trail that will take you all the way north to the village of Lake George, a first class hospital, shopping centers, AND one of my favorite Quilt SHOPS!

So besides enjoying the atmosphere of Glens Falls, I was also there to teach a two day workshop of Snowy Hideaway.  Shannon & Bill, the staff, AND Bailey joined me along with Judi, Jackie and Cathy.  Their Snowy Hideaways were Great!  Take a look . . .

Here’s Judi, Jackie and Cathy

Lake Pleasant Quilters

I spent three beautiful, gorgeous, fabulous days hanging out in one of my favorite places in the world, the New York’s Adirondack mountains!  The ADK mtns are always special, and every season is wonderful, spring, summer, fall and winter!

So anyway, I was asked to teach a workshop for the Lake Pleasant Quilters who wanted to make the combined “Up North” wall hanging.  The quilters were busy, as you’ll see, but we still had time for some kayaking in the surrounding lakes and streams.

I’ll start off with the beautiful lakes and mountains, and the kayaking first . . . .
