I had an opportunity to spend two days with a GREAT bunch of quilters near Utica, NY. The Snow Country Quilter’s! They were loads of fun and fantastic quilter’s too! On Friday, they treated me to dinner at a really fun diner, The Soda Fountain! Like a local Johnny Rockets! Loved the music! 🙂
That evening, I stayed in the Sugarbush Bed and Breakfast! I LOVED this place and didn’t ever want to leave! It was a fabulous old country estate, built in the early 1800’s. Beautiful gardens and grounds, guest rooms that are soooooo comfortable, a peaceful verandah off the back, and a hostess that couldn’t do enough for me! From afternoon tea, to the hearty breakfast, I was totally pampered! If you ever decide to visit that part of New York, make sure you schedule a few nights with Bill & Molly. Address is 8451 Old Poland Road, Barneveld, NY 13304, website is www.sugarbush-bb.com Some attractions nearby are, Glimmerglass Opera House, Farmer’s Museum, Utica Zoo, Baseball Hall of Fame, Canastota Canal Town Museum, Erie Canal Bike/tow path, and the Adirondack Scenic Railroad, just to name a few!
So, on to Saturday where the quilters and I got to work! They chose the three individual hangings from my “Up North” series, “Deer Island”, “Lakeside Retreat” and “Chick & Dee”. And all three were well represented that day. Take a look, WOW! they really kept going, as you can see with the almost finished quilts! Great job Snow Country Quilters! I hope to get out their way again sometime and hang out with these fun gals!
